Vivienne Westwood RTW Spring 2015 xx2Dame Vivienne Westwood, DBE, RDI (born Vivienne Isabel Swire on 8 April 1941) is an English fashion designer and businesswoman, largely responsible for bringing modern punk and new wave fashions into the mainstream. Westwood came to public notice when she made clothes for Malcolm McLaren‘s boutique in the King’s Road, which became famous as “SEX”. It was their ability to synthesize clothing and music that shaped the 1970s UK punk scene, dominated by McLaren’s band, the Sex Pistols. She was deeply inspired by the shock-value of punk – “seeing if one could put a spoke in the system”. – – more READ

The aquatic theme was the obvious move, and this concept had tons of creative potential allowing us to use a wide range of sea-life trinkets. With all the press coverage around the preservation of Bahamas’ reef systems recently, we thought that connection would also work in our favour.” Javotte Bethel the owner and operator of Javotte’s House of Couture, has been gainfully employed in the fashion industry for about 20 years and began designing at the age of 12, later making her own prom dress.  After high school she studied at the International Fine Arts school of Miami where she obtained an associates degree in Fashion and Graphic Design.  – –  Please visit Javotte Bethel’s House of Couture on Facebook – –

Louis Vuitton’s Cruise 2015 Collection

Palais at MonacoThe Palais Princier Monaco was the setting for the Louis Vuitton show (@drdidou66)

Today Nicolas Ghesquiere took the Louis Vuitton cruise collection to the catwalk for the very first time. For such a grand occasion, an equally grand backdrop was needed and with the world’s starriest of stars currently holding court in the French Riveira the Palais Princier Monaco was, naturally, the perfect location. When Ghesquiere showed his first collection for the legendary house during Paris Fashion Week in February, he certainly made his mark by showing his collection in a pared-back manner. And despite the swanky setting for the Cruise 2015 show, the same execution applied.
