Fall Season at ACNE, London

ACNE FALL/WINTER 2012.13 

Acne was all about layering, belts, small waists and lots of fabric! Super thick waist belts took over the show (the new-age corset, perhaps?), nipping in quilted jackets, and luring through inflated shirts. Colors started in deep dark maroons and oranges onto more acidic splashes of green, blues, and yellow. Structure and definition rained the Acne show for sure. A+! –TLI | International Icons reign supreme at this London Fashion Week. Fall 2012 is no different and the “Looks” are very strong and marketable. The Libertines, and a press release promising ‘corrupted elegance’ we were expecting big things from Todd Lynn. With well-cut seperates in autumnal tones of rust orange, chocolate brown and teal – Lynn seemed to tick all the boxes at first. Fur stoles made of Fisher, a ‘relation’ of Sable, added a touch of glamour but the collection still fell a little short. The designer’s usual sculptural, futuristic aesthetic was there, while he attempted to branch out and make his first foray into draped silk. Shoulder high leather gloves added an interesting twist but otherwise the styling was basic.
