GETTING around in New York City for Mercedes Benz fashion week traffic can be hard no matter the time of year, but add a herd of stiletto-stepping fashion show attendees to the city’s bustle, and you have Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Show Week. Set your fashion calendar, below is a guide to navigating these hectic days and where to catch the live-streaming shows on your iPad in case you get stuck in the back seat of a cab when you should be in the front row at Lincoln Center instead of the old Bryant Park location. Noteworthy: French Fashion Designer, Christian Dior has a long history of Haute Couture in Paris. No different next month at Paris Fashion Week where the newest French fashion designs will be shown for Autumn 2012. Paris fashion, bar none, has long time made the french famous for Haute Couture. Long time rival, the House of CHANEL Haute Couture, heralded by Karl Lagerfeld always promises to be a spectacle for ALL to see. Taken place next month as well is New York Fashion Week, this country’s Couture Collection by celebrated Fashion Designers like Marc Jacobs, Zac Posen and Creative Director Tom Ford, now an International Icon. Fashion Journalism from All over the Globe awaits the fashion industry’s fashion shows, every Season. Fashion TV a media follower amongst many gears up every season for these events. Get ready folks for the fashion world’s idea of Hollywood. See ya’ there!

Dates: Thursday (first show: Nicholas K, 9 a.m. at the Studio at Lincoln Center) to Feb. 16 (last show: Bill Blass, 5 p.m. at the Union League Club).

How many shows: There will be 90 shows and presentations at the Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week site at Lincoln Center, and roughly 250 more at sites scattered around the city, from Milk Studios (where, among others, the designers Pamela Love, Patrick Ervell and Ohne Titel will show) to art galleries and makeshift presentation spaces across town.

Who’s going: Organizers expect more than 100,000 attendees, including 4,000 registered journalists and members of the international fashion industry.

How to get in: For most fashion shows, you have to be invited; no tickets are sold to the public. But don’t despair if you are shut out: 28 shows are now being live-streamed at youtube.com/liverunway where you will witness first hand some new fashion trends for this Fall, including Jill Stuart (Saturday, 11 a.m.), Diane Von Furstenberg (Sunday, 4 p.m.), Narciso Rodriguez (Tuesday, 8 p.m.) and Michael Kors (Feb. 15, 10 a.m.). Also, 15 shows at Milk Studios are being live-streamed at milkmade.com, including Peter Som (Friday, 10 a.m.), Alexander Wang (Saturday, 5 p.m.) and Proenza Schouler (Feb. 15, 8 p.m.). You can also catch the Marc Jacobs collection on Monday at 8 p.m. and Marc by Marc Jacobs the next day at 4 p.m. at marcjacobs.com.
