Party Show Fashion Week with Illustrator Nicolas Tavitian

Fashion Week Paris WORLD EXCLUSIVE for Style Voyeur, a conversation with Parisian Illustrator, Nicolas Tavitian – as he takes us inside a Paris Fashion Week show!

Above & Below: Lanvin Fall/Winter 2012 show

At Paris Fashion Week we asked Nicolas, you were on Style Voyeur back in 2010 (see here), how did you get to know Style Voyeur? I don’t remember anymore how I got to know Style Voyeur. I can’t help thinking it is my curiosity which drove me to your blog. But I can still remember what I thought about your pictures and your words the first time I glanced at them, which is more important. I was intrigued because I found that the people you photographed had a very relaxed attitude, looking satisfied and happy to be there, happy to show at fashion week, what they did or their outfits. It was like pictures taken during a party, not during what could be considered in Paris as a working moment. It was cooler. It told me something about Perth but also something about the Paris show.

This is a major fashion week scoop for me, one that I am very blessed to share with my readers, how is it that you are able to give Style Voyeur such an EXCLUSIVE? I Read more…

Alexander McQueen, fall 2012.

Making Magic at Saint Laurent | Balenciaga: Geeks and Spies | Rochas: Stonewear | French Laundry | Town and Country From Pedro Lourenço |

Paris & London fashion seems to be talking about three-dimensional fashion, and the future. Tonight, at Salle Wagram, the same place where Alexander McQueen staged his dance-marathon collection, his successor, Sarah Burton, gave a magical rendering of both. The show started calmly with snowy white bell-shape coat dresses and laser-cut calf skin, resembling lace. All the models wore helmet like white-blond wigs, their eyes shielded by visors. Then Ms. Burton turned up the volume, first with feathery and fur coats Read more…

TOM FORD’S Chanel Campaign

Models: Saskia de Brauw and Joan Smalls

Chanel‘s Spring / Summer 2012 campaign and, of course, Karl Lagerfeld has set the bar high for us mere mortals. Joan Smalls and Saskia de Brauw look impossibly graceful working a variety of gymnast-tastic poses while perched on exercise equipment. But forget your standard baggy tee + leggings gym gear, these ladylike ladies flex their muse-worthy muscles in delicate frocks and frothy evening dresses, with not one drop of sweat in sight. This is Chanel, daaahling. The series of striking black-and-white photos were styled by Carine Roitfeld and shot by Uncle Karl himself over the water at Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Antibes, France (where the Resort 2012 show took place, dontcha know). – – more Read

Channel ‘brought it’ in Paris F/W

Chanel’s collection was delightful enough, regardless of setting: romantic and feminine dresses, featuring puffed sleeves, ruching and tweed; skirts of all styles; and (a lot of) white, aqua, pale blue pink and black being the principal colours for the season. There was a light, approachable feel to the designs. — Take a Look: Video ©ourtesy Lucire

Sketches of Chanel by Karl Lagerfeld

Sometimes the Kaiser amazes me. And he doesn’t even have to speak in order to achieve that! Besides having to draw so many collections per season and photograph so many shoots (not only for his maisons but also for various fashion magazines), he has time to read and to sketch. We know he reads because he has repeatedly told us that (and because his house / studio is stuffed with books) and we know he sketches (not just for the catwalk collections) because well… see below! It’s a Karl Lagerfeld authentic drawing for Justine Picardie‘s Chanel Sa Vie book that’s scheduled to appear next week (the French edition, the German is scheduled for April and the English edition for June). This is, of course, a luxury edition of a book already published in 2010 by Justine Picardie (which you can hear talk and explain her book right after the jump; also, you can buy the first edition of Chanel, Sa Vie here) (via.
