Take a look at some of Europe’s top designers Fall 2008 stuff..!

Enjoy viewing some highlights of the FALL2008 Collections from some of Europe’s top houses and more. It’s really what I call high art or perhaps, theatre is more like it. Though the French particularly know how to create a garment that insist on a grand entrance, it’s the American ready-to-wear Designers that seem to all know how to design, manufacture and market clothes for the masses. Haute Couture is why I fell in love with Fashion Designing. But. For all practical purposes I realized as a working designer how difficult it was to always keep a well structured garment within a range of affordability. I imagine there is still your wealthy patrons and celebrity buyers but for the rest of us, it is still the question of “….how much is it going to cost?” It is for that reason even the Europeans have resorted to hiring and taking on so many American Designers to share in their design and manufacture of clothes we can ALL afford. Bona petite!

fashion_week_logo.gif

Here’s the “schedule” for New York City’s, Fall 2007 Collections. Of course this is for Spring 2008 and it should prove to be a good one. Since a lot of our American designers are really cutting edge these with days, with their own stores, private collections, ready-to-wear lines, QVC and so on. The collections maybe still significant to sales and this collection should prove to be no different. So. Get in line for your viewing. Or. Do like lots do and sneak your way in. Whatever, however you get to partake. It’s never a bore. And yes! Don’t forget to bring your armor. The girls are getting more and more agreessive as I’ve been told. Thank God moi doesn’t have to deal with that bunch anymore. Have fun everyone and “….have a fashionable good time”.

Diamonds are Fashion’s Best Friend…PARIS knows about “Abazias”..!

parishilton_watch.jpgmtvmovieawards1.jpg

What would the Oscars look like without diamonds? Or the Golden Globes? What would Hollywood be like without diamonds? How about Paris Hilton without diamonds? Ever wonder if fashion would be as hot if it weren’t for diamonds? Let’s face it, there is a reason diamonds are said to be a girl’s best friend – they are utterly versatile and go with any outfit.

Diamonds are so versatile that you see them in diamond-studded tiaras on the heads of princesses and debutatants. They can look just as good on a bride or a sweet sixteen. And, if you must go for the hip-hop or punk look, there’s definitely ways to add them to your wardrobe without looking like you’ve committed a fashion faux pas. Even men can wear them without giving up their macho elegance. You can put them in your teeth, on your purses, your shoes, your ears, around your neck, in your hair, and even on sewn into your gowns.

You just can’t do that with just any old fashion accessory. After all, when was the last time someone stuck a pearl in his or her teeth and made hip-hop history? Some things just aren’t stylish! Diamonds don’t have that problem. They go with any fashion scene out there. They pair well with other gems and always pump up any fashion. Wherever you go and whatever you choose to wear, there is a diamond accessory that can make your add the exclamation point to your personal style.

Fashion editor, Isabella Blow dies at 48…!

The always surprising to see, Isabella Blow passed away last week from what is believed to have been ovarian cancer. I am sure not only her fans but some of our recent talent will surely miss her. Isabella help launch careers of several top models and designers. Like Anna Piaggi, Isabella always stopped traffic, to say the least. It was mostly because of those lovely Phillip Tracy hats that adorned her lovely head. She leaves a husband, Detmar Blow who shared the news with the press about the loss of his wife. Isabella Blow was supposedly disinherited by her family, years ago prior to heading to New York. In the early 80’s she attended university, temporarily, whilts embarking on her editorial career working under the watchful eye of Anna Wintour of Vogue. The fashion industry, no doubt, will miss her very much.
