Madonna’s “W.E.” is about Wallis Simpson & Edward (Duke of Windsor)

My hat goes off to Arianne Phillips and her spot on costume designs for the film. Phillips, who recieved an Academy Award Nomination for “Walk the Line” (2005), and was responsible for the tailored looks of Tom Ford’s “A Single Man” (2009), as well as taking care of Madonna’s costumes for both “The Confessions”, and the “Sticky & Sweet” tours, does an amazing job at recreating the glamour and decadence of the famous couple.

The great love affair between that of American socialite Wallis Simpson, and dandy playboy supreme, Edward VIII- the Duke of Windsor …MAINLY, except Madonna has chosen to string together the accounts of their affair with a modern storyline stemming to a Sotheby’s auction featuring possessions of the infamous pair, and the significance each item plays in the couple’s fated romance. – - Read and See more CLICK | Article was featured by ©The Eye of Faith – -
